Documentation Open BigCommerce app

BigCommerce App

The Quote2Cart BigCommerce app embeds in the BigCommerce control panel. After install, publish the storefront widget through Script Manager so shoppers can request quotes, and convert approved quotes into a BigCommerce cart for checkout.

Install the app

From the BigCommerce App Marketplace

  1. In BigCommerce, open Apps → Marketplace (or install from your Quote2Cart listing).
  2. Find Quote2Cart and install it.
  3. Approve the requested OAuth scopes when prompted.
  4. The app loads in the control panel with your store context; Quote2Cart registers the store automatically.
Tip: Complete Store details (company name, logo, support email) and Notifications before you publish the widget so customer emails look correct on day one.

Storefront script (Script Manager)

BigCommerce injects Quote2Cart through a Script Manager script that loads the shared storefront init bundle. The script resolves your store, loads versioned widget assets, and fetches public widget configuration for that store.

Use Storefront widget (or the publish controls on the Dashboard) in the Quote2Cart app to Publish or Disable the live shopper experience. Publishing installs or updates the Script Manager entry; disabling turns the widget off without uninstalling the app.

Storefront widget

Open Storefront widget in Setup (or use Dashboard publish controls) to Publish or Disable the storefront experience.

  • Published — Shoppers see Request a Quote / Add to Quote, Convert to Quote, and My Quotes when quotes are enabled.
  • Not published / disabled — Widget stays off; your settings are kept for later.

What shoppers see when live

  • Add to Quote / Request a Quote on product pages (label configurable).
  • Convert to Quote on the cart page.
  • Floating launcher (ticket, orb, or pill style) for the current quote basket and My Quotes.
  • Quote request form — contact details and submit messaging from Customer Interface settings.
Hard refresh: After publish, reload the storefront with a hard refresh if buttons do not appear immediately (browser or CDN cache of script assets).

Quotes in admin

Use the app sidebar for day-to-day quote work:

  • Dashboard — Volume, setup checklist, and status overview.
  • All quotes — List, filter, open detail, create or edit quotes.
  • Companies / Customers — B2B account context for quoting.
  • Quote messages — Negotiate in Quote Chat when the feature is enabled.

Typical statuses: DraftSentOpened (customer opened the checkout link) → Completed (order matched via webhook).

Store details & logo

Under Store details, set company name, address, support email, phone, website, tax ID, hours, and the company logo used on quote documents and emails. Currency is synchronized from the BigCommerce store.

Logo uploads are stored under the profile CDN path /cdn/profile/{storeId}/logos/{uuid}.ext and saved as logoUrl on the store profile.

Notifications & SMTP

Configure outbound email under Notifications so Sent quotes reach customers with your branding. Choose the shared relay or custom SMTP, edit templates, and send a test message after saving.

Quote emails include line items, totals, PDF (when enabled), and the checkout / cart link.

Price and button visibility

Quote2Cart has two separate controls:

  • Quote rules — Hide all prices or hide zero-price products, and choose the placeholder text shown instead of a price.
  • Tools → Hide from quote — Remove the quote button from selected products without hiding those products from the storefront.

See Quote rules and Hide from quote for details.

Convert to cart

When a quote is sent, the customer receives a link that builds a BigCommerce cart with the negotiated lines, prices, and quoted shipping. They complete checkout with BigCommerce’s normal payment methods. An order webhook matches the cart metafield and marks the quote Completed.

  1. Finalize lines, discounts, tax, and shipping (select a rate) in the quote admin.
  2. Send the quote (email + PDF as configured).
  3. Customer opens the link → BigCommerce cart → pays.
  4. Quote status moves to Opened, then Completed when the order is created.

Troubleshooting

  • No quote buttons on the storefront — Confirm the widget is Published, quotes are enabled in Quote rules, and Script Manager still has the Quote2Cart script. Hard-refresh the storefront.
  • Widget published but still inactive — Check that public widget-config returns enableQuotes: true for your store.
  • Cannot send a quote — A shipping rate must be selected on the composer before Send (and usually before Save Draft).
  • Emails not sending — Verify Notifications / SMTP settings and send a test message.
  • Quote not completing after order — Confirm order webhooks are registered for the store and the checkout used the Quote2Cart cart link (quote metafield present).
  • Logo missing on PDF — Re-upload under Store details and confirm the public logoUrl loads in a browser.
